Blog-a-versary give-away!!

I had my 4th blog-a-versary Saturday, I can't believe I've been doing this blog thing for 4 years!

To celebrate I thought I'd do a give-away, to thank you for all your kind comments.

First I want to show you this sweet baby dress I picked up at a new flea market in Clinton.

How cute is this? There are a couple of worn spots on it, but, it's still so pretty!

The eyelet fabric is gorgeous.

I planted some catnip in a pot for Bunchie. I decided to make a plant stake out of a silver plated spoon. I've seen this done before, it's not anything new at all, but, it's new for me and I love it!

I flattened the spoon with a hammer on my metal bench block. It was so much easier to do than I thought it would be. I used my 1/8" punch stamps, stamped catnip and went over it with a black Sharpie marker, then wiped off the excess. I dyed some white seam binding with Rangers new Distress Stains in Wild Honey and Broken China, you talk about easy peasy, I LOVE the stains, you neeeed them, LOL!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Here is my give away!
  • Crafty Secrets Wonderland Tea Creative Scraps
  • 2 CS Image and Journal Booklets, Summertime & Childhood
  • Our Craft Lounge Sparkly Fluff, Very Cherry Red
  • 5 spools of American Krafts ribbon
  • 3 small acrylic stamp sets
  • 2 wood block stamps
  • a bag of vintage game pieces, rick rack & buttons
  • plastic rocking horse Maya Road ribbon slides
  • Bingo cards and cardboard DMC floss holders
  • 2 Copic markers, V12 & V17
  • The spoon plant stake in the picture is not included, BUT, I will make one for you! If you're the winner you can email me what word you want on the spoon, I'll make it and include that in the package!
That's it, leave a comment and I'll pick a winner Sunday, April 3rd!
Thanks again for all of your sweet comments, I really appreciate them!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I guess I need another bag for the can, yeah.
Crafty Secrets & eclectic Paperie (Shabby) blog hop
EDIT: I've had several inquiries about the stamped knife.
You can get the metal punch set at places like Home Depot or Lowe's, I got mine online, I can't remember where. I found a set at Amazon, I have the 1/8" set like that one. I have a bench block that I use that I got online also to do the hammering on but, you could do it on a cement floor I'd think or any super hard surface. I used a little hammer to do the stamping.
I hope that helps, have fun!
Oh yeah, Sandy has uped the prizes to a total of 16 instead of 6 - she's good like that!!
Are you ready for a fun shabby blog hop?
Check it out....Both EP and Crafty Secrets will be giving away prizes. A total of six prizes all together! You can find out more about the prizes on the Heartwarming Vintage and eclectic Paperie blogs ( linked below). The more DT blogs you visit and leave comments on, the more you increase your chances to win one of the 6 prizes. Winners to be announced on Monday.
For my project I altered an old wooden box that was a flea market find a few years back.
I used Tim Holtz's brilliant idea in using his Tissue Tape to cover the edges, so simple and it looks great!
This compartment has a tiny metal tart tin, a bingo game piece and a lock and keys. The flower on top is an old Prima flower, I put a vintage earring in the center of the book page flower I made.
This is the box I started with. I covered the edges and then I added Wonderland Tea Creative Scraps to the back of each compartment, I like to use the collage side of the Creative Scraps when I'm covering something. See the houses on the left? They came with the box. I was going to paint them, but, I decided not too.
When I was done covering everything I put on a coat of Mod Podge to protect it.
See the little boy flying the kite? He's from the Crafty Secrets Little Boy stamp set.
I stamped him and paper pieced his clothes. I cut him out and glued him to a dowel. My hubby drilled the hole in the block for me.
I used some of my little collectibles in this box, it always fun to fill boxes like this!
This one has vintage rubber alpha stamps, a vintage button card and an altered domino.
along with the kite.
This one has a pocket watch and a giant ball chain that I got from SkyBlue Pink a couple of years ago. I put a punched image from the Creative Scraps inside with some trinkets.
This one has a soldered piece with a picture of my cat and a vintage pin.
I added a painted ledge from some doll house trim for the charm and pin to sit on.
This compartment has a vintage tracing wheel, one of the houses and 2 printers blocks.
Here is 3 pieces of silverware I tied together with seam binding.
I stamped the knife with the word play.
Isn't the Campbells kid spoon sweet? I rubbed some Walnut Distress ink on the letters to make them pop.
I made the flower with a mini tart tin and some tin snips.
There is tatting on a spool and a cloth measuring tape.
Well, that's it!
Make sure you check out all of the designers blogs on this fun hop for a chance to win!
Love Mail ~ Crafty Secrets
Good Morning!
I have some blog hop news to share with you!
The Crafty Secrets and Eclectic Paperie DT 's are coming together for a shabby hop. There will be prizes galore and it's happening Friday 3-11! I hope you can have some fun with us! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Have you seen the new Crafty Secrets Love Mail Creative Scraps?
They are gorgeous, great for cards for the people you love!
I made 2 cards with images from them.
I added glitter to this image, on the edges and flowers, I wish it would have showed up better.
Supplies: Paper - vanilla and rose red cardstock, Madeline Mat Pad by K & Company. Ink - Ranger Distress Vintage Photo. Acces. - Love Mail Creative Scraps, glitter, Kaiser Rhinestones, paper doily, ribbon. Tools - paper distresser, Martha lace border punch, blending tool.
Here's the 2nd card.I punched the Love You from another image in the scraps and popped it up with a foam dot.
I added a button & flower gem to the little tag. I love using these tiny tags. I got them at an office supply store in Clinton where I work. They came in a big bunch with strings on each one. I cut the string on this one to make it shorter and tied a knot in it. Supplies: Paper- vanilla cardstock, Madeline Mat Pad by K & Company. Ink - Ranger Distress Antique Linen. Acces. - Love Mail Creative Scraps, pink Adorn-it's, vintage button, flower gem by Hero Arts, tag, pom-pom trim, ribbon, paper roses. Tools - scalloped border punch by ek success, tiny attacher, scalloped oval punch by Marvy, paper distresser, sewing machine.
I bought a camellia plant this weekend. I saw some on the Martha show and the blooms where goregous, they looked like roses! I didn't realize the plant got so big, like a tree, I'll have to pick the perfect spot for that!
(the camellia bloom pic from the Wikipedia website)
Have a great Monday!
OCL55 ~ Shower of Blossoms
Good morning, TGIF!
Another Our Craft Lounge Friday challenge. This week it's a CASE challenge, copy and share everything!
I've been having so much fun with the new release sets.
I picked this set, Shower of Blossoms, illustrated by Marianne Walker, LOVE!
I went to SCS and the OCL gallery and found this card by Broni Holcombe.
I did the card design sorta-kinda like Broni's, just changed it a little on the layering and I used a bow instead of a flower and a tag for the sentiment. I paper pieced the girls clothes and put Platinum Sparkly Fluff on the rabbits. I colored the white seam binding with Ranger Distress Spun Sugar ink and a blending tool. Supplies: Stamps - OCL Shower of Blossoms, Oriental Garden. Paper - blush & cream cardstock, 8x8 Conservsatory pad by 7gypsies. Ink - Ranger Distress Walnut Stain, Antique Linen, Spun Sugar & Copic markers. Acces. - Platinum Sparkly Fluff, Kaiser Rhinestones, tag, button, white seam binding. Tools - Spellbinders Labels 8 & Long Classic Rectangles (sm), blending tool. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I hope you can play along in the challenge, you might win a new release stamp set! Have a great weekend! Smiley from
