I was busy arranging my mums and pumpkins on my porch last weekend. I have them sitting on a little bench next to my pink chair. Terry ended up painting the chairs for me, a pale pink and not so pale yellow. I told him to get the pale yellow to match the pale pink I got, well, lets just say one of my chairs is a mustard yellow....it's on the back deck....

Sea-sons Greetings ~ Our Craft Lounge

I'm settled down watching Extreme Home Makeover, my eyes will be leaking before it's over. I don't mind, they're happy tears!
Smiley from millan.net

I'm showing you a card I made with Sea-sons Greetings by Our Craft Lounge. I've always had a thing for turtles, box turtles. I've seen those tiny little water turtles on TV on the beach running their little hearts out to get to the water before some bird snatches them up, these little guys remind me of those turtles, they are so cute!
I did some paper piecing on his hat and shell, I used Sparkly Fluff on his scarf and hat.

Supplies: Stamps - OCL Sea-sons Greetings. Paper - Georgia Pacific White (Walmart), SU! Vanilla, Basic Grey Figgy 6x6 pad. Ink - Ranger Distress Walnut Stain, Antique Linen, Copic markers. Acces. - Sparkly Fluff Sugar & Very Cherry Red, Kaiser pearls, Paper Trey Ink ribbon and buttons, white cotton string. Tools - Spellbinders Labels 4, Marvy Giga & Mega Scalloped punches, Scor-Pal, sewing machine.

Crafty Secrets Design Team Blog Hop!

Happy Friday, ahhhhh, my fave day of the week! To top it off some of the girls on the Crafty Secrets design team are having a blog hop today, YIPPEE!!

We're to make a project or unusual shaped card using a stamp set we haven't used much. OK, this is a stretch, but, I love the Halloween Fun set and I only get to use it once a year, so it's not used much, right?

I decided to make another treat holder, this time I got the idea to use one of my ginormous tags from eclecticPaperie. I couldn't find them in their store, they may be out, but you could contact them and see if they have any.

I took the ginormous tag, it measures 8x4, and scored it at 2 1/2 " & again at 3" from the bottom.

I covered it with my Earthy paper and then I tied the twill around it to hold it closed. I left it opened enough to put candy inside. I embellished it and tied ribbon at the top so it can be hung on a door knob. Super easy! Wouldn't these be cute for your co-workers or special trick or treaters on your list?

Go on over and check out the other designers blogs to see what they have come up with, you'll be glad you did!
It's September 25th, it's my birthday, it's also my twin HB's birthday. We are the same age too, but, I won't tell ya that Smiley from millan.net
Guess what I'm doing for my birthday...going to the dentist...pfffft.

Crafty Thanksgiving

Smiley from millan.net
I remember always wanting to make a wish with the pullie bone when I was little, that was the highlight of the chicken supper! I don't remember doing it with a turkey pullie bone though.
This is one of my fave images in the Crafty Secrets Thanksgiving stamp set, aren't the little kiddos adorable?! Sandy always finds the sweetest images to use in her stamp sets and papers.
Notice all the sewing on this card? I drug out my Singer sewing machine and tinkered with it. I remembered when I put it away a few years ago that the bobbin thread was knotting up real bad and I was so frustrated. When my Janome mini was giving me fits I took it to a Janome dealer and she said she couldn't order parts for it and she couldn't even get into it. ugh. My friend Pine said that the small cheap machines are basically disposable. So, I tinkered enough with the Singer to fix the bobbin thread, YIPPEE!! I'ma sewing machine now!

Supplies: Stamps - Crafty Secrets Thanksgiving. Paper - Georgia Pacific White (Walmart), SU! Confetti Cream, Crafty Secrets Earthy Paper Pad. Ink - Ranger Distress Black Soot, Antique Linen, Copic markers. Acces. - Kaiser Pearls, gold pin, vintage button, twine (Walmart), Martha Stewart satin ribbon. Tools - sewing machine, Martha Stewart lace border punch, SU! scalloped border punch, Scor-Pal, blending tool.

We finally got a little sunshine today, man, it's been so rainy and gloomy here for the last week or so. I hope we can hold onto it for awhile! Well, I'm hunkerin' down getting ready to watch the Cowboys in their new stadium...

I think the ol' Arkansas boy, Jerry Jones did good for himself, ya think?!

OCL For-bitten tag & Twilight candy

Smiley from millan.net

Happy Monday people!
Yep, that's me. I'm not ready for Monday this morning, I think I'm allergic to working on Monday's, my eye is itchy and swollen. Actually that happened yesterday, it was so itchy and this morning it is swollen, what's up with that?! Ugh.

Here's another OCL For-bitten project, man I can't help myself, this set is so fun to work with. I think the wolf image is so cool, you have to get some Sparkly Fluff in Coffee Bean, that's what I used here or Eyeliner Black. I blinged up my moon, bat and juicy lips with Ice Crystal & Eyeliner black Crafty Sparkles! See my skull dude, I got him at a flea market Saturday at Mtn. View. I thought he'd make some great Halloween decor! I think he's supposed to ride a motorcycle, he has Chopper logos on his hands & tennies.

Look at the New Moon candy I got at the $1 store, they are cream filled chocolate hearts. This tag and candy would make a great gift for a Twilight fan, don'tcha think?!
I covered the tag with a book page and sponged some Ranger Distress Vintage Photo, Dusty Concord & Broken China ink on with my blender tool. I added pieces of Daisy D's Cool Me Down paper.
More supplies: other paper - Georgia Pacific white from Wal-Mart, black card stock. Ink - Copic markers. Acces. - oval book plate & brads, Tim Holtz Adage story ticket, sticky crystals, black twill trim with snaps & bells from Wal-Mart, lace flower, ribbon, button, black hemp, Glossy Accents. Housework Stinks and Star Rocks!

Smiley from millan.net

Housework. Don't ya just hate it?! I don't know, I think some people enjoy it, blech, not me! Although it's nice when it's done, maybe I need to hire a cleaning lady. Yeah, right.

When I saw this image in the Crafty Secrets Girlfriends Images & Journal Notes booklet of the lady and the wringer washer, I had to make a card for my friend Lana. She was so funny at the retreater commenting on my southern way of talking Smiley from millan.net

Supplies: Stamps - gingham background stamp. Paper - red & black card stock, Georgia Pacific white, image from Crafty Secrets Girlfriends Image & Journal Notes booklet. Ink - red classic pad. Acces. - ribbon, button, felt flower, black brads. Tools - nestie scalloped rectangle, slit punch, Scor-Pal, swiss dots Cuttlebug folder, Big Shot, Round-it-all. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I made this Thank You card for someone who is very generous and she loves to color and design!
I started out sewing on my card and my Janome mini sewing machine was giving me fits. The thread got hung up and then the needle wouldn't pick up the bobbin thread. Pfffffft. I couldn't get it to work. I have NO patience for sewing machines when they aren't running smoothly! Needless to say I only got the top of the cardstock sewn. The eggplant cardstock was a left over piece that I had when I used my coil binding machine. I liked the holes on the side.
OK, back to Star Rocks Smiley from millan.net
Star is my fave girly OCL stamp! I love her hair, the fact she's a rocker and I can relate to the peace sign and lava lamp!! Have you noticed all the peace sign stuff coming back in style? Cooool.

Supplies: Stamps - Our Craft Lounge Star Rocks. Paper - Georgia Pacific white & eggplant cardstock, MME Penny Lane, green notecard base & envy by Hero Arts.
Ink - Ranger Distress Black Soot, Copic markers. Acces. - Prima flowers, flower brads, ribbon. Tools - scalloped border punch, Scor-Pal, needlepoint canvas, paper piercer, broken sewing machine.
I hope your day is a good one, thanks for stopping by!

Crafty Clipboard

Smiley from millan.net

Hi! The long weekend will be over in a couple of hours. Back to the grindstone. It's supposed to warm up here, in the 90's this week, back to summer, YAY!
Smiley from millan.net
I've had this Crafty clipboard in my head for awhile and I finally got around to making it. I used Crafty Secrets Creative Scraps Calendar & Girlfriends, the clipboard came from Office Depot.
I painted the clip with Crackle paint, when it dried and was nice and crackly I tried to paint on the Mod Podge it took the paint off. pffffft. So I covered it up with book pages and Mod Podged over the paper.

I covered the clipboard with book pages and inked up the edges with Ranger Distress Vintage Photo ink and a blender tool. Then the fun part, I cut out my scraps and arranged them how I wanted them on the cliupboard and glued thwm on with Mod Podge. I painted Mod Podge over the whole thing when I was done to protect the paper from use.

I threaded the vintage buttons with linen thread and glued them on with E6000.

I hope y'all had a great weekend. We just hung around here. It rained all day Saturday, I worked in the craft room yesterday and today we took the grandgirls to the park. They played with Pop on the swings and monkey bars while I walked around the walking path. A good day!
